Why do implants break down? (Duration of implantation and implant body design)
In the ideal condition, teeth only contact with eating or swallowing when the duration of these dental contacts is less than 30 minutes per day.
Patients with tooth decay, clenching with other parafunctional habits, have many hours of dental contact day.

This constant force can cause fatigne load in a dental implant.
Of course, this may take several years, so the more implant you have a better engineering design, the longer they will be in the long run.

The implant body and its components are susceptible to fractures due to fatigne and range from 1 to 4% after the onset of force for 5 to 10 years. The most common long-term failure is when a titanium-grade implant with an unstable and stressful treatment plan is used. This shows the quality of the implant itself, and such failures are reported to be 80% in this type of implant. Different factors affect the risk of fracture due to fatigne (fatigue-induced), including type of data, type Force, direction of force and geometric design of implant.
Mechanical failures are usually caused by static force. Static forces occur like a loading period due to increased stress in the implant manufacturer after a period of intense force arrives. But fatigne fatigue failures occur when the implant material is exposed to fewer, but more frequent and frequent forces.
The implant should be designed in such a way that the implant material can be tolerated repeatedly without breaking it.
The tolerance of a material is often half its tensile strength. Therefore, fatigne and ultimate strength of a substance are related, but fatigne is a more important factor, especially in patients with parafunctional movements, because they are more exposed to stress and more often than not.
