What is the lifespan of implant? Is it necessary to have short-term implant restoration?

Dental implants are made of pure Titanium or its alloys so they are not susceptible to decay as natural teeth but it doesn’t mean that there is no need for special care of implants or observing dental implant health points. If the main health points are not observed for dental implants;

microbes and germs accumulated around the implant and will cause bone decay. In this case, damages to dental implant are very sever and may even destroy it completely.

In normal conditions; bones around the dental implants will deplete about 1.10mm.

A standard implant is about 11mm. In ideal conditions; implant lifespan is estimated as 100 years. For increasing the durability of implants, it is recommended to observe several points such as fostering and restoration of bone in dental implant treatment stages, inserting suitable quantity of implants, determining a suitable time for bone restoration before inserting implant, suitable dental implant surgery, manufacturing and inserting prosthesis in a correct way and observing all dental implant cares.
