Risk of dental implant infection
Generally, “implant infection” means early dental implant failure. For this reason, if the bone density in the implant site is not enough for dental implant; it is highly recommended to restore the bone before implant to prevent implant infection.
For example; bone graft should be performed so that the implant is completely surrounded by bone to increase the speed of healing procedure in a perfect manner. If healing procedure does not occur completely; putting the crown is not possible and the possibility of loosening the implant will increase and there is no choice other than to remove implant . It is worth noting that if the connection between the bone and implant is not complete; the possibility of implant failure is very high.
implant crowns should be made in a way to bear the pressures resulted from jaw movements so that the implant can bear these forces and pressures. It is possible that bones around the implant or dental implant base or dental implant crown break because of pressures resulted from eating. In these cases, the bone surrounding dental implant will deplete and at last it will lead to implant loosening.
In the case of implant loosening, contact your dentist immediately.
Generally, the above mentioned problems will be considered as infection by most of the patients. But in fact, dental implant infections are very slight and are not considered as a threat or real concern.
